How do you define a guru?
A guru to me is someone who is a trusted source in their field, a master of your craft, and is able to share that with the world.
What does a normal work day look like for you, starting from the moment you wake up?
The first thing I do after I wake up is check in with my team. Once I know everyone has what they need for the day and is in a good place, I get to work on emails, estimates, and head out for walkthroughs.

Morning
What time do you wake up?
6:15am
What do you have for breakfast?
Lemon water, coffee, and supplements
Do you work out?
YES. Almost everyday. Tennis is a passion of mine and allows me to be competitive while getting a great sweat in and having fun at the same time.
Do you have a special routine to get you in the zone? Meditation type maybe?
In order to get in the zone, I try to make sure my workspace is clean and I eliminate all distractions.
What time do you get to work?
I work from home in the mornings, before I head out to the field, so I pretty much start my workday right after waking up.
Noon
What do you have for Lunch? Do you even eat lunch?
I pretty much live by the “Contractor’s Diet” which is multiple coffees and maybe a banana at some point, followed by a big early dinner.
Are working lunches something that works for you?
I wish I could say that working lunches work for me but in reality, they don’t. I feel like eating a big lunch slows me down and robs me of my focus for the rest of the day.
Afternoon
How much work are you hoping to achieve in your working hours?
My productivity goal these days is to do at least one thing everyday that moves my company forward and helps support my team.
Do you take a break in between?
If I do take a break, it’s to go for a 15 minute walk to get my blood flowing and catch up on a non work-related podcast.
Evening
How does settling in look like for you?
Most nights I try to get a tennis match in and make dinner at home. I love unwinding with a glass of Italian red wine and putting on a comedy to watch.
Do you turn off your phone when you’re getting emails from work?
As a CEO, my job is to be available for my entire team, clients and partners alike, so no, I do not turn my phone off from work, but I have been making an effort to become more mindful about phone use after traditional hours, if I can help it.
What does a normal wind-down look like for you?
To wind down at night, I often try to put the phone away at least 30 minutes before bed and pick up the current novel I’m reading with my sister back on the east coast.
