Bit of bio:
Morgan Clae is a cinematic pop producer and artist known for her viral series turning iconic movie and TV scenes into songs. As a half-Black, half-Indian creator, she’s passionate about making space for voices like hers in historically exclusive industries. Her latest project, LUNAIIRA: Soul’s Rift, is more than a show—it’s a movement for those told their stories don’t sell and a tribute to her communities that have proved otherwise.
How do you define a guru?
When I think of this word, I’m actually transported back into the world of Avatar the Last Airbender (an absolutely crucial show to who I am today) where Aang goes to the Eastern Air Temple to train with Guru Pathik. To me, a guru is someone who has wisdom to share based on lived experiences and does so with kindness and clarity, affirming those around them and doing their part to make the world a little bit better from their corner of the earth.
What does a normal work day look like for you, starting from the moment you wake up?
When I wake up, I immediately wash my face and grab my skin care bin (yes, there’s a bin), then sit at my desk and knock out any admin things I need to – emails, responding to DMs, etc. Once I have that out of the way, I move to make sure I’m all set on my content that’s being rolled out that day and do any additional prep that I need to.
After that’s all locked, I move to creative time! The rest of the day is a mix of music producing sessions, editing photos, and meetings with meals peppered in when I get hungry. Depending on how late I was up the night before, I might take a nap at some point or game a bit to unwind.
What time do you wake up?
It honestly depends! As I’m writing this, I actually woke up at 4:41am because I went to bed around 9:30pm last night. In general, I am to wake up between 9 and 10 am everyday.
What do you have for breakfast?
I’m actually not a huge breakfast person! Usually the first meal of the day for me happens somewhere between 11am-2pm.
Do you work out?
Mainly on weekends with a hike or a long walk! During the week I try to stay active with errands and just getting myself out of the house (the struggles of working from home).
Do you have a special routine to get you in the zone? Meditation type maybe?
I need my desk CLEAN. If there’s anything that doesn’t belong there, I always clean up my desk and then I’m able to slip into work mode pretty easily!

What time do you get to work?
Well that’s easy, my desk is about 7 feet from my bed so I’m usually at work by 9:13 am or whatever time I decide.
What do you have for Lunch? Do you even eat lunch?
I love lunch (and dinner)! Usually lunch varies between different types of asian foods (noodles, curries) or a massive salad!
Are working lunches something that works for you?
I am pretty strict with lunch being total downtime. My partner and I both work from home, so we make sure to coordinate meal times and eat and watch a show without working, and that really recharges us both going into the afternoon!
How much time do you take for yourself during lunch?
Including cook time, usually between 30 minutes to an hour!
How much work are you hoping to achieve in your working hours?
It truly depends on how much is on my plate for a given day or what I have upcoming. Some days it’s 5 hours of work, sometimes it’s 16. On days where I’m filming content, I literally work around 20 hours. It ebbs and flows, and I’ve learned to not be hard on myself on those shorter work days.
Do you take a break in between?
I’ve learned being productive is all about making sure I’m feeling good, so if my mental health is not great on a day or if I’m tired, I prioritize taking time to reset so my working time can be as effective as possible.
What does settling in look like for you?
My phone that has all my social media apps stays at my desk so when I’m done WORKING, I’m actually disconnecting. Because content creation is such a huge part of running a small business, social media isn’t something that’s “fun” for me. It’s work, and limiting that to only while I’m working helps me really disconnect and settle in to spending time with my partner and friends.
Do you turn off your phone when you’re getting emails from work?
I am a big lover of “Do Not Disturb”, so yes!
What does a normal wind-down look like for you?
Gaming, watching TV, playing a board game or card game with my partner while doing my nighttime skin care.
