Southampton gained a new kind of luxury landmark on Monday, November 24th and it doesn’t sell jewelry or couture. Instead, Charlie Fox premiered its highly anticipated boutique to an eager crowd of canna-connessieurs and the simply canna-curious, unveiling a new paradigm in modern cannabis culture: luxury canna. Part atelier, part dispensary and fully immersive brand world, Charlie Fox invites guests into more than a shopping trip- it invites them into a lifestyle. The concept frames cannabis not as a commodity but as a curated, educational, and wellness-infused experience.

Co-Founders Julia Levi and James Mallios set out to disrupt traditional cannabis retail by weaving together the sophistication of hospitality, the intimacy of boutique curation, and the accessibility of wellness culture. As the first state-licensed adult-use dispensary in Hamptons, the 1,000 square foot boutique delivers retail therapy with the same reverence you’d expect from a luxury apothecary.
It’s no wonder The New York Post deemed them, the “Bergdorf of Weed.” Charlie Fox hit New York’s winter 2024 scene with a bang, stocked with premium flower, edibles, and CBD + mood-forward formulations – all presented with a designer lens. The boutique further indulges its guests with apparel, sommelier style guidance, elevated interiors by Home Studios, and original art-work by local Amagansett-based artist Antonello Radi enveloping the space in warmth and intimacy.

The Southampton outpost is steeped in nautical sensibility, a nod to the local environment, with natural materials, vintage touches, and subtle maritime references. “From the beginning, our focus has been education and safe, responsible use,” said Charlie Fox co-founder Julia Levi. “We curate with intention so guests, especially those new to cannabis, feel supported and empowered to make choices that genuinely serve their well-being,” she admitted.
Levi’s vision began years before legislation caught up in New York. “Prior to the legalization in New York, I spent time in L.A studying the market,” shares Levi. “Though the shops were welcoming, something was missing.” Coming from hospitality, Levi and Mallios knew what that missing element was – luxury with meaning. With unanimous support from the New York State Cannabis Control Board, the Southampton Planning Board, and no public opposition, the East End gained its first-state dispensary of its kind.
“We created Charlie Fox to reimagine what a dispensary experience could feel like- inviting, intentional, and rooted in care,” said co-founder James Mallios.

The Charlie Fox ethos is simple yet radical, designing cannabis retail with the same personalized, heritage-driven service that defines great hospitality. Their track record supports that promise, as operators behind Calissa, Levi and Mallios understood ambiance, service, storytelling. At Charlie Fox, that same DNA is infused into each guest interaction, speaking to a wide audience: from seasoned enthusiasts to luxury -driven older markets and curious newcomers exploring paint medicine for the first time.
“Our grand opening has been a refreshing success here at the Hamptons East End,” Levi reflects. “The positive community response emboldens us for future collaborations and potential expansion.”
With the stigma around cannabis eroding and legalization accelerating across the country, Charlie Fox positions itself not just as a retailer but a cultural user – one intent on shifting perceptions through thoughtful design, education, and elegant experience. As the brand eyes new markets and future locations, Levi and Mallios are clear about their north star. Charlie Fox isn’t just selling cannabis, it’s cultivating a new chapter in luxury wellness. The Southampton dispensary will be open seven days a week from 10am – 8pm to adults 21+ with valid ID.
