Actor, screenwriter, producer, advocate and ally, Johnathon Schaech, joins the inaugural initiative of #30Voices30Days.
Schaech made an indelible mark on Hollywood with his standout roles in Gregg Araki’s The Doom Generation and Tom Hanks’ That Thing You Do!. Since then, he has demonstrated remarkable versatility, sharing the screen with acclaimed performers like Jessica Lange, Ed Harris, Antonio Banderas, Kenneth Branagh, and Idris Elba, among others. Currently, as the lead and executive producer of the action-packed series Blue Ridge on INSP, Schaech continues to captivate audiences. Recent credits include appearances in AMC’s Suitable Flesh and Netflix’s Night Clerk, where he starred alongside luminaries such as Heather Graham and Anna De Armas.
Off-screen, he treasures family time with his wife Julie Solomon, and their children, Camden and Lily. Additionally, Schaech has been active as an advocate and was a founding member of SAG-AFTRA’s Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee.

The true me? I’m a relentless seeker of truth, unafraid to confront the unknown. I delve into experiences, dissect them, and lay them bare for others to navigate safely.
What is your passion?
My passion, beyond my family, is storytelling and captivating audiences.
When do you feel the most authentic?
Authenticity surges within me when I champion the voiceless, standing tall where others falter.
Why is it important for YOUR voice to be heard?
My voice demands to be heard. Early in my career, a director silenced me, masking my performance with another’s, punishing my refusal to yield to his advances. That trauma forged a shadow within, but I’ve reclaimed my narrative. My voice must resonate, a beacon of resilience against the darkness I’ve conquered.
