In our modern world, where the pursuit of health and wellness has become a top priority, it’s surprising how often we overlook the ingredients in the products we use daily. From the food we eat to the skincare products we lather onto our bodies, the demand for transparency and natural ingredients has never been higher. Yet, amidst this heightened awareness, one area that often gets neglected is our hand washing routine. Our skin, the largest organ of our body, deserves the same level of scrutiny and care as any other aspect of our health and well-being. This is where Milagro Goat Farm steps in—a small family business dedicated to putting clean skin first nestled in the picturesque landscape of Truchas, New Mexico. A very deep culture, next to the mountain peak Truchas Peak – the second highest peak in New Mexico.
The name “Milagro” itself is a nod to the natural beauty of the land and the miraculous properties of the ingredients they use. Inspired by the classic 1988 comedic western movie, The Milagro Beanfield War, directed by none other than Robert Redford, Milagro Goat Farms seeks to capture the essence of that natural beauty in every product they create. With a mission to incorporate nature’s healing elements, they go beyond mere cleanliness, offering their customers the best naturally sourced ingredients for their skincare needs.
At the heart of Milagro Goat Farms lies a commitment to sustainability and holistic living. Their ingredients, sourced directly from their family goat farm, include vegan oils, pure essential oils, and, most importantly, their own goat’s milk. This emphasis on quality and purity sets them apart in an industry often driven by profit margins rather than health-conscious choices. Instead of cutting corners with cheap chemicals, they prioritize educating their customers on the benefits of sustainable, naturally sourced organic soaps.
The journey of Milagro Goat Farms began in 2020 when Zachary VanCuren, the son of goat farmers and true homesteader at heart, decided to bring one of his mother’s projects to market. Faced with the challenges of losing his job at Le Creuset and the closure of his personal training business due to the pandemic, Zachary saw an opportunity to turn adversity into innovation. Drawing on his family’s heritage and the societal climate of the time—where cleanliness and sustainability were at the forefront of everyone’s minds—he embarked on a mission to create something truly special.
After countless hours of experimentation and over 50 batches later, Milagro Goat Farms was born. Their holistic approach to skincare focuses on using 100% natural ingredients, unlike most commercial brands that are riddled with chemicals and unknown additives. Each batch of soap is infused with love and intention, with Zachary himself stating, “Whenever I make a batch of soap, I pray, I bless it. I put everything I can to add goodness into each soap so that it brings loving and kindness to whomever may need it.”
One of the key ingredients that sets Milagro Goat Farms’ soaps apart is their use of goat’s milk. Unlike water-based soaps that can dry out the skin, goat’s milk is rich in butterfat, a natural moisturizer and conditioner. The result? Silky-smooth skin that feels nourished and hydrated with every wash. But it’s not just about the luxurious feel—Milagro Goat Farms’ soap is proven to be effective for a myriad of skin ailments, from eczema to acne to severe dryness.
With six unique recipes to date, including their top-selling anti-inflammatory lavender soap, Milagro Goat Farms offers something for everyone. But beyond skincare, they are on a mission to promote a lifestyle of wellness and sustainability. By consciously choosing natural ingredients and environmentally friendly practices, they not only care for your skin but also contribute to a healthier planet.

Their commitment to sustainable business practices and environmentally friendly products brings joy to their customers, who can now find Milagro Goat Farms’ soaps on the shelves of Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico. But their reach extends far beyond physical storefronts—customers can also purchase and learn more about their products on their website, where every click is a conscious choice towards a cleaner, healthier future.
