“One Tree Hill” Reunion Basketball Game for Charity

One Tree Hill fans rejoice as some of the cast come together to play a basketball game to benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research, which will be livestreamed on House of Highlights.

21 years ago, a show about family and high school in a small town in North Carolina was born, launching a 187 episode run as one of the most influential teen dramas of a generation. On May 18th, 2024, Friends with Benefit Charity Events is reuniting the One Tree Hill basketball team for a game to benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research at Laney High School in Wilmington, NC – the home of the Tree Hill Ravens and also the same court where Michael Jordan played in high school.

Chiefly, the game will celebrate this generational show with a globally live streamed basketball game in front of a 1200 person sold out crowd, on the court where it all started. The live stream will be hosted by House of Highlights and can be viewed here on their YouTube channel at 11 am eastern.

Significantly, the legendary North Carolina State University basketball coach, Jim Valvano, announced the start of the V Foundation when he delivered his famous speech at the 1993 ESPYS. The Foundation is continuously inspired by his “Don’t Give Up…Don’t Ever Give Up!”® spirit as are numerous others across the country, including actors Paul Johansson and Craig Sheffer, who famously played Dan and Keith Scott in the hit show. They will take their rivalry to the court as they each coach a team in this competitive game for good.

Craig Sheffer: “Team Keith versus Team Dan! I’m so excited to lead a team against my friend PJ to raise money and awareness for the V foundation for cancer research. I am a cancer survivor, and have experienced the radiation and crippling anxiety that comes with a cancer diagnosis. So, I am happy to be a part of this amazing livestream event to combat the brutal beast that is cancer.”

Paul Johannson: “I’m excited to reunite with the Tree Hill basketball team and especially my TV brother Craig Sheffer (Uncle Keith!)” Craig and I will be battling for the honor of Tree Hill Basketball superiority! All of us are proud and excited to come together on behalf of the V Foundation. I’ve personally been inspired by the legendary Jimmy V and his courage as a man and his coaching success story and hope to lead our team to victory in the game like the V Foundation is leading the path towards victory over cancer.”

James Lafferty, Robbie Jones, Bryan Greenburg, Paul Johansson, Craig Sheffer, Tyler Hilton, Cullen Moss, Brett Claywell, Stephen Colletti, Lee Norris, Antwon Tanner, Texas Battle and more will all step back into the Tree Hill gym one more time. Furthermore, there will be a special virtual appearance by Chad Michael Murray.
