Who said playgrounds were just for kids? The long weekend is here and we have just the spot to let your inner child lose, Slate Chelsea. A 16,000 square foot adult playground known to local New Yorkers as the spot to let your hair down and mingle. In its literal form, the dynamic, spacious venue is filled with all sorts of amusement and attractions including an oversized moon man perfect for photo opps. Unveiling their new al fresco dining area just in time for the fall season, Slate Chelsea has everything you need for your next night out.
Whether channeling your competitive spirit with a round of Skee-Ball or an epic showdown on an 8-player foosball table, Slate offers out-of-this-world attractions. From arcade games, to mini bowling to ping pong and pool there is something in every room for revelers to enjoy. There is even a 20-foot brilliantly lit tubal slide that glides you from the main floor to the activity filled level below. Want to take the fun outdoors? Slate’s enclosed patio features high-top tables each with a game to enjoy from classic Jenga to Hook and Ring battle.
All the activity is sure to work up an appetite. But don’t fret; Renowned Executive Chef Darryl Harmon serves up whimsical bites that fill your soul and fuel your competitive spirit. Serving the likes of spicy tuna crispy rice, mac and cheese bites, bruschetta, and filet mignon toast to name a few. Their shareable menu ensures you won’t skip a beat in your winner-takes-all pursuit. Slate’s signature cocktails complement the menu perfectly offering the likes of Run the Table (casamigos reposado, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, cilantro leaves, tajin, and jalapeño slice) Slate Summer Sangria (rose, brandy, Lillet blanc, triple sec, ginger ale, orange juice and lemon juice) and Frosé (frozen blended rosé)
Guests can also take in live music, live shows and comedy to end the evening with all-consuming laughter. For the premiere of their new al fresco dining area, guests were able to enjoy a special edition of Jackknife Comedy. The lineup featured Kari Burt, Dan Wilbur, Mara Wiles, Ismael Loutfi, Lizzy Cassidy, Ben Katzner, Alison Leiby, Jared Goldstein, Sam Morrison and the night’s emcee Gabe Pacheco. To plan a fun escape from your day-to-day or gather a group of friends, Slate is waiting for you.
They are open 7 nights a week, including late nights on Fridays and Saturdays. Slate is also available for private and corporate events. For a calendar of events, visit their website below.
