How do you define a guru?

MEAGAN: To me, a guru isn’t an untouchable figure on a pedestal—it’s someone who has walked through real-life challenges, found wisdom in the process, and now shares it in a way that motivates you, empowers you, and inspires you to take action.

MEGHAN: The master at something, someone who has competence, education and experience in a subject.

What does a normal workday look like for you, starting from the moment you wake up?

What time do you wake up?

MEAGAN: Right now, I’m pregnant and expecting a baby any day now, but this routine has really been my saving grace over the past few years—it keeps me grounded, connected to my little family, and balanced in my marriage. I usually wake up around 6–6:30 a.m. and ease into the day with my skincare routine (I am obsessed with Kerstin Florian right now), letting the dogs out, and brewing a cup of coffee. I love those quiet moments when I can sip my coffee, check my emails, and glance over my calendar before the day gets busy. I’ll make my husband a small breakfast before he heads to the gym, then take the dogs for a walk and prepare another meal for him before he leaves for work. Once that’s done, I’ll head to the gym myself—it’s my reset before diving into work. I typically keep a later work schedule, around 11–6, which I’ve found really supports both my productivity and the rhythm of my marriage.

MEGHAN: I’m usually up between 5-7 AM as I have a five-year-old. Once you have a baby, your sleep schedule totally changes. I also wake up with a surge of energy, usually as I always have a huge to-do list and items to cross off for our events. First thing I do is drink Nespresso, I’m obsessed with my coffee, and my morning ritual, which includes two serums, eye cream, and moisturizer. I also walk my Shiba Inu, dress my son, and prep all his food for the day.

What do you have for breakfast?

MEAGAN: I have always loved breakfast – through pregnancy, I always start with half an apple and peanut butter! But, my go to choices have been eggs and oatmeal or eggs and sausage, or a smoothie.

MEGHAN: I usually skip breakfast, but sometimes I’ll have two hard-boiled eggs or Icelandic yogurt with rice crackers.

Do you work out?

MEAGAN: Yes! Working out is one of my biggest passions and priorities. I weight train about 4x a week, and then like to get walks in with my doggies. For the past two years, I have always had a trainer, and that has been a successful action for me.

MEGHAN: Yes, I work out 2-3x a week at Training Mate in Glendale, and I have my Shiba Inu half the week, so I will walk her 3x a day when she’s with me.

Do you have a special routine to get you in the zone? Meditation type, maybe?

MEAGAN: For me, the best routine I follow is my morning routine, which sets my day up for success – if I need an extra boost, I love to put on music that gives all the feels to get into a good mood for the day. I am also religious with my calendar, scheduling all the things, and I give myself daily targets each day of the things that I need to get done. It is successful as a to-do list, but it is also amazing for self-motivation to ensure that I stay on track. I make a fun game out of it.

MEGHAN: I just have a to-do list, I name out exactly what I’m going to do, and then I just get into action and production and nail it all out.

What time do you get to work?

MEAGAN: For me, I start my day at 11, a little bit later after I have handled my other priorities and responsibilities with my husband. Since he operates a larger company with over 180 employees called YESA,  I take the mornings to ensure both of our days are set up for success, and then I am able to get into my duties relating to everything work-related.

MEGHAN: 9:30 AM after dropping my son off at school. I get our team started and then usually have calls scheduled every 30 minutes all day.

What do you have for Lunch? Do you even eat lunch?

MEAGAN: I think for most entrepreneurs, this is probably the same, but a lunch break doesn’t get scheduled into my calendar. I usually end up having lunch around 2 pm, and it’s a salad and protein or a cheese, crackers, fruit, and nuts.  I do eat almost all my meals at home, and I cook a lot, so there is usually some sort of leftovers in the fridge.

MEGHAN: Good question, as I always have to squeeze it in or just eat while on a Zoom!! It’s usually ground beef with marinara sauce, ground chicken with onions, Icelandic yogurt again, or some cold cuts I grab on the go (no nitrates from Whole Foods).

Are working lunches something that works for you?

MEAGAN: Yes, since time management is crucial, if there is someone I want to meet up with, I will go for lunch, or do coffee, or plan a group get together to see multiple at once. This is the best way to build relationships and manage your time.

MEGHAN: I would love to do this more! I’ll go on a working lunch or an early dinner maybe once a month since LA Is so vast, but when I do, I feel like it forwards relationships so much and I always feel like “I should be doing this more!”

How much time do you take for yourself during lunch?

MEAGAN: It depends on the kind of day, but usually 20 minutes, and normally I eat on a call or sit on the patio with my dogs so they can get a play break in the backyard. I am usually multitasking lunch with something.

MEGHAN: Usually 15 minutes!

How much work are you hoping to achieve in your working hours?

MEAGAN: My days are full and dynamic, as I currently balance several roles across different companies and projects. At Modern Day Wife, I focus on driving the overarching vision with Meghan, ensuring operations run smoothly, and building meaningful partnerships. Within YESA, I play an active role in planning and producing their company’s events. I also recently published my first book, Feminine and Focused: Redefining Success on Your Own Terms Without Sacrificing What Matters Most, which was an incredibly rewarding project. In addition, I hold the title of Mrs. International 2024, where I remain actively engaged in the International Pageants system and mentor several queens. Alongside all of this, I fully manage the day-to-day operations of my household and staff. With these combined responsibilities, my schedule is always full, but each role brings purpose and fulfillment, making the days fly by.

MEGHAN: I squeeze in so much: I handle business development for future projects, sales calls for current events, handling media partners, influencer agencies, celebrity talent, meet with our social media team, meet with our clients on their experiences at our events, garner media partners, handle our DJ, photographer and all the teams for the event, work on our event run of shows, etc. I have also learned that when I receive requests, I just schedule them on the calendar, and that way, they will get done. I run a non-profit on the East Coast, and get requests on helping others get up and running, speaking requests, and so on, so I just add these tasks and phone calls to the calendar, and then it somehow all fits in.

Do you take a break in between?

MEAGAN: No, for me, I stick to my schedule of 11- 6, and those are my working hours. This works best to ensure I can meet, complete, and keep all my agreements!

MEGHAN: There are no breaks. It’s a marathon, usually on a daily basis. When I get to regroup with my staff, I find this enjoyable and use this as a sort of break.

What does settling in look like for you?

MEAGAN: For me, my night routine ends with making dinner around 6 pm, I cook pretty much every night for me and my husband or whoever is over. Our house is often a revolving door of my parents or in-laws, or business associates for dinner, so I find myself often hosting. After this, I usually clean up, look at my calendar for the next day, and then lately it has been all studying and reading for baby prep but otherwise I would usually work on a personal development course and I almost always head to bed by 10 pm. My husband and I will watch movies or a show together on weekends. We don’t usually watch TV during the week unless it’s been a hustle and we need to unwind.

MEGHAN: Ending off, closing the computer, putting on PJs, and watching a show on the couch. I get to do this usually once a week. I also read a few books to my son at night with our shiba inu in tow, and this officially ends the evening.

Do you turn off your phone when you’re getting emails from work?

MEAGAN: I usually keep my phone on me between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. While it’s always technically on, I set it to ‘Do Not Disturb’ outside those hours. I’ve really had to become intentional with my time—almost like a ninja—because I juggle so many responsibilities. The last thing I want is to be pulled out of focus by a text or email when my attention should be fully on something else. That said, if something urgent comes up, people know to call me, and I’ll always pick up and handle it right away.

MEGHAN: No, emails, texts, phone calls, Zooms are happening simultaneously during the workday. Evenings and weekends I try not to work, although if something important comes through, I will handle it.

What does a normal wind-down look like for you?

MEAGAN: I use what I call my rolling to-do list method, which I also talk about in my book. Basically, I check off what’s been completed and then move any unfinished items to another day—so if something was planned for Tuesday but a bigger priority came up, I’ll shift it to say Thursday. I love this approach because it helps organize my mind for the next day. That said, not every day looks that neat—sometimes it’s as simple as hanging up the phone, shutting the laptop, and diving straight into making dinner or the next task. There isn’t always a perfect wind-down, but you learn to manage and make it work.

MEGHAN: Checking my to-do list a few times, handling any last admin and recaps emails, and then usually taking a last-minute or a personal call on the go to pick up my son from school! Good music in the car, too, of course. Right now I’m really into the ’70s band Supertramp. Evenings, I put on a sheet mask, play some Serge Gainsbourg, and drink a calming magnesium hot drink.
