Every year, World IVF Day celebrates the advances in reproductive medicine that have helped millions of families. For more than three decades, that mission has defined the work of Dr. David Smotrich, founder of La Jolla IVF, which today welcomes hopeful parents from more than 104 countries and has helped bring an estimated 10,000 children into the world through compassionate, personalized care.
That legacy inspired an unforgettable World IVF Day celebration on July 24. Produced by Gurus Media and publisher Derek Warburton, the evening brought together leaders from medicine, fashion, entertainment, philanthropy, and business in support of the Reproductive Research Foundation.
Beginning with an exclusive shopping experience at The Swan House before continuing to E. Baldi for a cocktail reception and private dinner, the event demonstrated how fashion, hospitality, and philanthropy can come together in support of a mission that has transformed thousands of lives.

Hosted by founders Tony Ferreira and Gant Griffis, the experience reflected The Swan House’s philosophy of pairing exceptional fashion with personalized service. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Reproductive Research Foundation through La Jolla IVF.

Yigal Azrouël Brings New York to Beverly Hills
At the heart of the presentation was internationally acclaimed Israeli-American designer Yigal Azrouël, who traveled from New York to personally present his newest collection exclusively for the World IVF Day celebration.
Known for his luxury womenswear, Azrouël has built one of New York’s most respected labels. The afternoon carried special significance as he was joined by his sister, Miriam Smotrich, and her husband, Dr. David Smotrich. Long regarded as Azrouël’s muse, Miriam made the presentation especially personal, reflecting the unique intersection of family, fashion, and philanthropy.
Guests also met the designer while exploring his latest creations, making the afternoon as personal as it was purposeful.

Adding another elegant touch to the celebration, Mary Bonnet and Sandra Vergara both wore designs by Yigal Azrouël, bringing the designer’s vision to life throughout the afternoon.
As the private shopping experience concluded, guests made their way across Canon Drive to E. Baldi, where the World IVF Day celebration continued with a cocktail reception before dinner.

An Evening in Bloom
Crossing Canon Drive, guests arrived at E. Baldi, where conversations that began at The Swan House continued over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before dinner.
Inside the private dining room, Bloom Boom Boutique Florist transformed the space with arrangements inspired by World IVF Day’s signature palette of blue, pink, and orange, echoed throughout the evening’s custom signage, napkins, and décor. The vibrant florals reflected the hope, joy, and new beginnings at the heart of the celebration.
Miriam Smotrich was presented with one of Bloom Boom’s signature handcrafted floral purses, showcasing the boutique’s distinctive artistry.
Each place setting featured a commemorative edition of Gurus Magazine with Dr. David Smotrich on the cover.

A Dinner Defined by Hospitality
Guests gathered for an elegant dinner showcasing E. Baldi’s signature blend of refined Italian cuisine and warm hospitality.
The evening began with Crostino di Polenta ai Funghi Porcini and Insalata di Carciofi e Finocchi, followed by Agnolotti di Granoturco with mascarpone and truffle butter. For the main course, guests selected either Sogliola al Limone, pan-fried Dover sole with lemon and capers, or Bistecca alla Griglia, grilled New York steak with seasonal vegetables, before concluding with E. Baldi’s signature Torta Caprese, a flourless chocolate cake served with mixed berries and chocolate ice cream.
Beyond the exceptional menu, E. Baldi’s generosity left a lasting impression. Additional servings were graciously offered throughout the evening, encouraging guests to linger over dinner and conversation.

Celebrating a Shared Mission
As dinner progressed, Tony Ferreira welcomed guests and thanked everyone for supporting an evening benefiting the Reproductive Research Foundation through La Jolla IVF.
Derek Warburton then welcomed the evening’s partners and supporters before introducing Dr. David Smotrich. Reflecting on more than three decades of helping families achieve parenthood, Dr. Smotrich thanked the patients and community who have shaped La Jolla IVF, reminding guests that fertility medicine’s greatest achievement is the families it creates.
As the evening came to a close, guests returned across Canon Drive to The Swan House for continued conversation and private shopping, bringing the World IVF Day celebration full circle.
