The newest dining destination has officially opened its doors in Gramercy, Wild Ivy. A chic and sexy upscale cocktail bar with a moody ambience suited perfectly for a first date, happy hour, or an evening dining with friends. The architects behind this charming locale are no strangers to the New York City restaurant scene. Mick O’Sullivan, the owner of Bell Book & Candle in the West Village and Peter O’Connell, the owner of both Molly’s and Malones on Third Avenue combined genius breathed life into Wild Ivy.
The stunning 18,000ft space is dimly-lit throughout with oversized booths and a beauteous bar. The walls are adorned with captivating abstract expressionist work of the late NYC artist Rick Librizzi, who lived in the renowned Chelsea Hotel. Librizzi was a contemporary of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, exhibiting a synergistic meld between the two maestros. As if the atmosphere wasn’t inviting enough, the menu calls for a delightful indulgence of ingenuity bites.

From crispy deviled eggs to salt & pepper chicken wings to mini meatballs drizzled with chimichurri sauce, Wild Ivy’s starter selection is an array of luscious flavors. Larger plates are also available including chicken cordon bleu sandwich, a grilled 16oz ribeye and a grilled cheese and truffle sandwich. Guests can also take a journey into their pizza options including the Italian flag with buffalo mozzarella, tomato and basil, or the old stand by with Ezzo pepperoni or the flavorful spicy meatball with serrano chile. For a lighter option, order a heirloom tomato salad, a stone fruit mixed green salad, or a classic Caesar. Wild Ivy will also soon offer a full brunch menu at the end of October.

The stylish, cool Gramercy vibe wouldn’t be complete with a stellar cocktail menu. Paying homage to Wild Ivy’s location, bar Director Kelly Jakobs conceptualized a cocktail menu of eye-catching and mouthwatering specialty cocktails. Such as the color-changing Poison Ivy made with butterfly pea infused Grey Goose, lemon and lavender or the Ruggle’s Choice made with vodka, Kahlua, espresso and pumpkin spice, Booth’s Hooch with dill infused gin, lime, ginger and beet, Irresistible Irving with rum, lime, peach, cinnamon and angostura, and the South of 23rd with jalapeno infused tequila, lime and a raspberry infused salt rim to name a few. Happy Hour will be offered on weekdays from 4pm – 7pm with $6 beers, $7 house wine, $4 off of specialty cocktails and $1.50 oysters.
