Will Cady Is Building the Future of Leadership by Bringing Humanity Back to Business

by | Jun 9, 2026

For decades, business culture has been dominated by metrics, efficiency, and scale. But according to entrepreneur, author, and former Reddit executive Will Cady, the next era of leadership may depend on something entirely different: humanity.

As co-founder of HEAL MVMNT, Cady is helping executives, founders, and organizations rethink what leadership looks like in an age increasingly defined by artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation.

His thesis is simple but powerful: the businesses that thrive in the future will be those that understand people better, not just technology.

“Community has become one of the most important concepts in business strategy,” says Cady. “The organizations that understand their people, their customers, and their culture will make better decisions than those that don’t.”

HEAL MVMNT was launched alongside his wife and longtime professional collaborator, Rachelle Cady. Together, they have created a consultancy that combines community intelligence, leadership development, cultural programming, and executive coaching to help organizations align their values with their actions.

The idea emerged from a realization both founders shared throughout their careers.

Despite being built by people and for people, many businesses become disconnected from the very humanity that drives them. Employees burn out. Brands lose relevance. Customers disengage. Leaders struggle to inspire trust.

Rather than treating those issues as isolated business problems, Cady sees them as cultural challenges. That perspective was shaped by an unconventional career journey.

A musician by training, Cady attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship before ultimately transitioning into the emerging digital media landscape of the early 2000s. Positioned in Boston during the rise of Facebook, Reddit, HubSpot, and other transformative platforms, he recognized early that online communities would fundamentally change the relationship between brands and audiences.

That insight eventually led him to Reddit, where he spent nearly a decade helping define community-centric marketing strategies that would later influence countless brands.

The experience gave him a front-row seat to one of the internet’s most powerful lessons: communities often know what organizations need long before organizations do.

Today, HEAL MVMNT applies that lesson through its work with executives and leadership teams. The company’s offerings include Reddit marketing strategy, cultural trend analysis, executive coaching, leadership retreats, workshops, sponsorship consulting, and immersive experiences designed to expose leaders to new perspectives.

Many of those perspectives come from outside traditional business circles. Artists, indigenous elders, spiritual practitioners, musicians, chefs, athletes, and other cultural leaders are brought into the conversation as teachers. Cady believes these voices contain forms of wisdom that modern organizations often overlook.

It’s a philosophy reflected in the company’s mission to bridge a growing divide. “The money-rich are often culture-poor, while the culture-rich are often money-poor,” he explains.

By connecting business leaders with cultural experts and ensuring those voices are compensated not only for what they create but for how they think, HEAL MVMNT seeks to create value for both sides.

The company itself remains fully bootstrapped, a decision Cady says has allowed the founders to remain aligned with their principles.

Their ability to say “no” to opportunities that do not fit the mission has become a defining aspect of the business. “We want to build something that creates alignment, not more fragmentation,” he says.

That commitment to alignment extends beyond the workplace and into their personal lives. As new parents, Will and Rachelle have embraced a model that blends entrepreneurship with family and community building. Their vision for HEAL MVMNT reflects both modern digital culture and timeless human values.

“We think globally but act locally,” Cady says.

That balance also informs his work as an author. His book, Which Way Is North, explores the intersection of creativity, spirituality, and emerging technology. Published shortly before AI entered mainstream conversation, the book argues that human creativity will become increasingly valuable as machines become more capable.

At its core is a message that resonates throughout all of Cady’s work: our greatest strengths as humans are not the things we share with machines, but the things we do not.

Empathy. Meaning. Purpose. Intuition. Storytelling.

As businesses search for competitive advantages in a rapidly changing world, Cady believes those qualities will become essential leadership skills.

For him, the future of business is not simply about adopting better technology. It is about becoming better humans.
