The ceremony formerly known as the SAG Awards stood out as one of the most high-profile events of the awards season and the final major industry celebration before the Oscars.

The Actor Awards returned this year with a renewed identity, yet without sacrificing the gravitas, emotional depth, and peer-driven authenticity that have long defined the institution. The 32nd annual ceremony unfolded as a distinctly American celebration of craft, resilience, and community, where actors honor actors in a room charged with both prestige and personal connection.
The opening was profoundly stirring. Michael J. Fox stepped onto the stage for the traditional “I Am an Actor” segment to a sustained standing ovation that felt less ceremonial and more deeply heartfelt. Living with Parkinson’s disease since his early years in the industry, he spoke candidly about his journey from Canada to Hollywood, about ambition, vulnerability, and the responsibility that comes with longevity. With clarity and humility, he reminded the audience that above all he is a father and an actor. The moment transcended the structure of an awards show and became a quiet declaration of endurance, gratitude, and unwavering devotion to storytelling. It set an emotional framework that carried through the entire night.
In film, Michael B. Jordan dominated with Sinners, earning Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role and reinforcing his position as one of the defining leading men of his generation. Jessie Buckley secured the Female Actor in a Leading Role award for Hamnet, delivering a performance widely praised for its emotional precision and layered intensity. Sean Penn was honored for One Battle After Another, while Amy Madigan received recognition for Weapons, in a season marked by bold choices and commanding performances.

The Film Ensemble award went to Sinners, underscoring the collaborative heartbeat of cinema and the chemistry that transforms individual performances into collective impact. In the Stunt Ensemble category, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was recognized for its breathtaking physical choreography and technical precision, reminding audiences that action-driven storytelling remains a cornerstone of big-screen spectacle.
Television reflected the increasingly global scale of prestige storytelling. Owen Cooper was recognized for Adolescence, but unfortunately, he wasn’t present to receive the award. Michelle Williams was honored for Dying for Sex, balancing vulnerability with sharp emotional clarity. Keri Russell earned recognition for The Diplomat, embodying composed authority in a politically layered narrative. Noah Wyle took home honors for The Pitt, which also secured the Drama Series Ensemble award, reflecting the cast’s cohesion and dramatic strength.

In comedy, The Studio emerged as a standout. Seth Rogen received individual recognition, while the late Catherine O’Hara was honored as well, her recent passing casting the moment in a tone of remembrance and collective respect. The ensemble recognition further confirmed the series’ creative vitality and sharp ensemble rhythm.

A defining highlight of the evening was the Life Achievement Award presented to Harrison Ford. Introduced by Woody Harrelson, the 83-year-old screen icon delivered an approximately eight-minute speech that felt reflective, grounded, and unmistakably sincere. He acknowledged collaborators who shaped his journey, including George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, along with the countless crew members and performers who define the collaborative nature of filmmaking. With characteristic understatement, he described the honor as “a little premature,” emphasizing that he continues to work and that acting remains, at its core, a shared endeavor built on trust. He thanked his wife, Calista Flockhart, and the broader acting community, reinforcing why he remains one of the most enduring figures in American cinema.

Those who did not leave with a statuette were nonetheless part of an exceptionally competitive and artistically ambitious field. This season’s nominations reflected emotional range, narrative risk, and performances willing to challenge conventional boundaries. The final vote by SAG AFTRA members carried the weight of professional respect and peer evaluation.
The red carpet delivered its own visual narrative. Demi Moore appeared in a sculptural black Schiaparelli couture column gown, finished with a dramatic white train that introduced architectural contrast and controlled movement, reaffirming her affinity for refined glamour.

Among the most discussed fashion moments was Sarah Pidgeon, who portrays Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in Love Story for Hulu and Disney+. She selected a voluminous pink Balenciaga couture gown that polarized observers. While undeniably dramatic, some critics felt that its scale and structure diverged from the understated minimalism historically associated with the woman she portrays.
