Silke Bianca’s Zen Garden Cycle – comprising Zen Garden Cycle I and II – redefines art as living, transformative presence. Blending Zen philosophy with Contemporary interior design, the collection creates serene sanctuaries of harmony and beauty.
During Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, a standout achievement emerged amid the bustling scene: Silke Bianca’s Zen Garden Cycle, presented by S-BRT Contemporary Art. In a gallery of bold installations, Bianca offered a serene, immersive experience that fuses art, design, and spiritual contemplation into a cohesive, harmonious dialogue.

Bianca’s work centers on the concept of Art Composing: reimagining art as an integral part of modern living. The Zen Garden Cycle invites viewers to inhabit space rather than merely observe it, transforming interiors into calm, meditative sanctuaries where art and life coexist.
“In a restless world, it’s essential to create mental stillness and harmony through the integration of art and design,” Bianca explains. “The Zen Garden Cycle celebrates living art—not as political discourse, but as an extension of one’s environment, fostering peace and serenity.”

Bianca’s vision is shaped by a rich personal and professional lineage. She is the granddaughter of a renowned Düsseldorf artist and trained at the Royal Academy of Arts in London and the Goetheanum Art Academy in Switzerland. Extensive travels across Southeast Asia and studies in Zen Buddhism influence her work, balancing structure with stillness, movement with calm.
Her practice focuses on texture, form, and the experiential—monochromatic compositions layered with relief-like structures created using a comb spatula. Each piece is framed in handcrafted black steel, designed to integrate seamlessly with interiors while inviting quiet reflection.

Notable titles in the cycle include:
· Tranquillity of Coloured Explosions
· Reflexivity of Floating Thoughts
The works emphasize a kinetic quiet– reflective surfaces catch light, while the 3D relief suggests a shifting inner landscape. The cycle also evokes references to a former ZERO ART GROUP of Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, Günther Uecker, Yves Klein und Daniel Spoerri and recalled as ZEROART 2.0.

Why this matters:
In a time of rapid change and constant movement, Bianca’s work offers a counterpoint: art that invites stillness, reflection, and a sense of “home” within public and private spaces. The collection demonstrates how design and spirituality can intersect to elevate everyday environments. The art isn’t just something to display; it’s a transformative presence that turns interiors into sanctuaries of calm and beauty.
